United Water New Jersey was founded
as Hackensack Water Company in 1869. The company's
name was changed to United Water New Jersey in 1995
to reflect the relationship with its parent
company, United Water Resources, and its sister
companies throughout the nation.
Throughout its history United Water New Jersey has
used state-of-the-art technology to provide
customers with the highest quality water and
service. For example, in 1929, the company
pioneered the use of powdered activated carbon to
improve the taste of drinking water. In 1986, we
became the first water utility to implement
automatic meter reading technology. And in 1989, we
opened one of the nation's first ozone water
purification plants in Haworth, New Jersey. Today,
we continue our commitment to use advanced
technology to provide you with the highest quality
water and service.

Our parent company, United
Water, provides water and wastewater services to 7 million people
in the United States. In
addition to owning and operating regulated utilities, United Water
Resources operates municipal water and wastewater systems through
public-private partnerships and contract
agreements.
United Water Resources
is a subsidiary of Suez Environment,
a global leader in energy, water and waste services.
United Water
seeks to be the premier water services company in North America.
"Premier" designation is never ours to claim or own.
We earn it only through the eyes of our customers, our
employees, our shareholders and the communities where we
operate. And every day we must earn it all over again.
Our corporate logo, the water star, symbolizes our mission
to be premier. The individual drops represent what we strive
to provide our customers--pure, clean water and stellar
service.-
