United Water Emergency Crews Tackle Route 3 Main Break

SECAUCUS, NJ, January 7, 2004
— United Water New Jersey has emergency crews on the scene of a major 24-inch main break near Route 3 westbound in the vicinity of Mill Creek Mall. The break was first reported about 5:00 a.m. and forced a shutdown of Route 3 westbound. Secaucus residents may experience low pressure or discolored water as emergency crews work to isolate the broken main.

Customers can expect that water system pressure in Secaucus will return to normal once the broken main is isolated. Officials advise that customers let their water run clear before using for drinking, cooking and washing clothes or dishes.

United Water construction crews are also on site to repair the break once it is isolated. Officials expect the work to last throughout the day.
